transforming lives for nearly 40 years

Since 1986, The Project has provided affirming care and supportive services to folks across our region. This work is critical to building a healthier and more connected community for ALL those we serve—including people living with HIV and the LGBTQ+ community.

As a non-profit, your support allows us to continue doing this work. Be a part of our story by making a donation today!

Make a gift, make a difference

Our clients rely on The Project for essential care, and WE rely on YOUR SUPPORT to help us fill in gaps and provide affirming health care and supportive services that promote well-being. Becoming a monthly donor shows our team that we can count on you year-round!

Follow this simple step-by-step guide to prepare a legacy gift.

  1. Decide on the type and amount. Pick a specific dollar amount, percentage, residuary, or contingent. Your attorney can help you think through which structure fits your overall estate plan.

  2. Work with an estate planning attorney. A bequest made without legal guidance can be challenged, misdirected, or voided. An attorney ensures your intentions are carried out exactly as written.

  3. Update your documents. Add the bequest to your will or living trust. If you have an existing will, a codicil may be sufficient.

  4. Review beneficiary designations. Retirement accounts, life insurance policies, and investment accounts pass outside of your will. If you want a charity to receive any of these assets, update the beneficiary designation directly with the institution.

  5. Notify us (if you are comfortable doing so). You are not required to. But informing gives us a chance to thank you, celebrate your gift, and plan accordingly.
